SDG Impact Specialist (Roster)

Impacti is a tech startup whose mission is to leverage digital technology to empower small and medium businesses (SMBs) to create positive social and environmental impact.

Launched by sustainability experts working with the United Nations, Impacti aims to help 1 million SMEs find their social mission over 5 years. Using our Impacti platform, SMEs can manage their carbon footprint, develop programs to empower women, and find ideas to create business solutions that solve the world's biggest problems. You will join our growing global team with team members based in France, USA, Morocco and Ghana.

Impacti is a tech company that builds digital solutions for sustainability for companies and organizations of all sizes, but especially small and medium businesses. We focus on doing great research to keep up to date on the latest business sustainability trends and great writing to simplify sustainability concepts to make them accessible. Our software development team transforms this research into fun to use and affordable web-based tools designed to make sustainability everyone’s business. At Impacti, we believe that every business deserves tools to better manage sustainability impacts suited to their size, location and sector.  

We’re looking for interested SDG Impact Specialists (remote) to join our roster of SDG advisors. Impacti has developed a SaaS digital solution to make it simple for all businesses of all sizes to create ESG reporting aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. Our digital solution empowers companies to take a do-it-yourself approach to managing their ESG/sustainability/impact reporting, guided by our online resources and with expert advice available on demand. Impacti's proprietary methodology has been developed since 2016, incorporating and harmonizing recognizing sustainability standards aligned with the 17 SDGs and 169 Targets. Our expert team has advised +75 businesses to create SDG reporting using the Impacti methodology.

This position is ideal for both young and experienced professionals building a career offering sustainability advisory services to companies and organizations. Under the supervision of our Director, SDG Impact, you will be assigned to and meet with our client businesses to kickstart their journey, helping them to decide on their priority SDGs, develop action plans, choose KPIs, gather reliable data and build compelling reporting and communications. All short-listed candidates will be enrolled into Impacti's SDG Impact program to learn our 5-step SDG reporting proprietary methodology. Full-time and freelance positions are available, all with flexible remote-based working arrangements.

 Responsibilities

Under the overall direction of Impacti's Director, SDG Impact, you will:

• Meet with Impacti's business clients to advise them on good practices in SDG reporting
• Conduct ongoing research to keep up to date on latest business contributions to and reporting on the SDGs
• Draft easy-to-understand guidance material to expand Impacti's online learning resources
• Participate in discussions with sales and marketing teams to develop pitches to expand Impacti's client base

Profile

• Demonstrated experience and interest in business reporting to the SDGs
• 1-5 years working in business advisory services
• Excellent client relations and communication skills
• Strong writer, able to simplify complex technical content into concise, easy-to-understand guidance without compromising accuracy
• Strong analytical, creative and problem solving skills
• Understanding of relevant standards, including in particular the Sustainable Development Goals, IRIS+ Framework etc.
• Fluency in English. Other languages, especially French and Spanish, desirable.
• Cultural sensitivity and international experience
• Flexibility and interest to work in a tech startup environment.
• Commitment to Impacti's mission to make sustainability simple and empower small and medium businesses
